Who We Are

"We are very proud of our wines and even prouder of the passionate team of wine lovers who make and present them"  Steven Mirassou

"I have been in the wine business for half my life, with 2/3 of that being spent with Steven Kent. While drinking great wines on a constant basis is certainly a major benefit of this career choice, nothing compares to the satisfaction of building a small business from the bottom up and feeling the over-whelming pride in our success. The hard work is rewarded every time someone walks through the doors of the tasting room saying “we were told you have the best Cab in the valley!” Our small team strives to promote our passion about our brands as well as make sure everyone receives the “Extraordinary Experience.” Jennifer

"My passion is hospitality...always has been. I am fortunate to work at a winery where we are always striving to stay at the top for our members and guests and with a team that is dedicated to this quest.. So, if you’re looking for world-class wines and people who are excited about sharing them, drop by for a taste!" Tracey

"Wine is my passion, my hobby and a great part of my life. My current passion is Pinot Noir, but I am always in search of excellent Cabernets, my first love when it comes to wine. I also enjoy introducing and educating the many people I meet here on a daily basis to the spectacular wines we produce." Janice

"The Livermore Valley Wine Country makes me smile! My first “Wine Tasting” experience was in this valley 24 years ago, and it has been amazing to watch the valley grow since then! Steven Kent and La Rochelle Wineries have become my home here in the valley. I feel lucky to be a part of these wineries, representing the highest quality wines being created within this Appellation and the most Extraordinary Experience in the Livermore Valley!" Cindy

"It is the 'vision' thing.  Find the right grapes.  Do the best you can by them every year.  Reflect and improve upon the prior years' results.  Develop and keep a vision of what you are striving to achieve. Gather information wherever and from whomever it is available to feed these goals. Do not allow quality slips to reach the public as they destroy the integrity of the brand's quality image.  Be reasonable in your appetite for growth, recognition and "success". The folks who share your tastes and vision will find you (with a little help) and make success possible." Tom

"I love the Home Ranch Cab and I really enjoy watching our guests faces when they taste a wine that they find amazing. Happily, that happens a lot!" Patricia

"I remember the day in September 1999 when I "accidentally" wandered into the new Steven Kent winery during the Harvest Festival and tasted the best cabernet I had ever had.  Steven signed my bottle and I guarded it preciously until I drank it 8 years later. Little did I know that several years after that mystical experience I would be working at the winery with the best team in the world while enjoying my faves of Vincere and Cabernet (and just about everything else)." Jane

"In 1994 I retired and was looking for a part time job, something that would bring me in contact with people. I couldn't think of a better job than in a tasting room. People who come into wineries are happy and eager to learn about the process of wine making. What I get a lot in the tasting room is "Boy you are really enjoy working here - how do I get your job here?" My reply to them is, "You have to wait till I die and just because I have white hair doesn't mean it's going to happen soon". Since I've worked for The Steven Kent Winery I've always said "the wine sells itself"!  What's my favorite wine? The glass of wine that is in front of me (S.K. of course)." Thom

"I've been associated with the Livermore Harvest festival - as a volunteer- for about 25 years. I worked at a winery in Amador County for nearly seven years before I returned to Livermore and came to work at SK/LR.  My favorite varietal is Barbera. I enjoy working at the winery because every day is a new day, a new experience and I get to meet and talk with some really interesting people." Bruce

"I absolutely love being a part of the staff at Steven Kent. One of my favorite wines is definitely the Merrillie Chardonnay!" Lisa
