Wine of the Week
We are opening our wine library to interested wine lovers, offering a collection of immaculately stored older offerings that showcase Steven Kent’s reputation for making world-class wines of distinction that improve for decades.
Each Monday at 10am, one wine will be available for purchase. That wine will be available until Sunday at 6pm or until it is sold out, whichever occurs first.
Each Wine of the Week has been vetted for quality by our winemaking team, and only the finest wines from the library are being offered in this program.
These wines have served a great purpose in helping to show the world-class quality of the Livermore Valley and the nuanced winemaking style of The Steven Kent Winery. By virtue of their luxury status, all of these wines were made in extremely small quantities, only the best vineyards and barrels being worthy of wearing the Steven Kent Winery mantle. Once the the Wine of the Week period ends, if any wine has gone unsold, it will never be released again. This program is the last chance for our members and customers to get our finest wines.

2015 “Radius” (Cabernet Sauvignon /Syrah blend)
Ghielmetti Vineyard is the source for one of Steven Kent’s most iconic blends: Radius. This wine was made for more than 12 years and was nearly always a blend of clone 30 Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from the top and bottom of the site.
Cabernet Sauvignon provided the wine’s heft and structure (think the bone of a skeleton) then rich Syrah with its ineffable aromatic signature added in the flesh and nervous system for this gorgeous beast.
As the vineyard aged, the quality of the Syrah declined to a point that it could not be a reliable party in this complex wine.
The 2015 vintage was one of the best examples of this wine. While always rich, 2015 Radius took on a more subtle and elegant aspect with mouthfilling fruit but also beautiful length and finishing tension.
Only 24 bottles of this beautiful vintage remain before it will be unavailable. For only 1 week, this wine is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
